IMessage costs
iMessage is a service that allows you to send text messages, voice messages, photos and videos to Apple devices such as iPhone, Mac and iPad using the Internet connection.
The only expense to have to have iMessage on your device is the activation cost, equal to 0,30 € (or the cost of an international SMS according to the tariff of your operator). Subsequently, the service has no recurring cost and allows you to send messages for free, provided you have an active Internet connection (Wi-Fi or 3G / 4G) and communicate with another person in possession of an iMessage account (otherwise a classic SMS is sent at the cost foreseen by your tariff plan).
Any reactivation of the service after a deactivation entails an additional charge of 0,30 euros. The charge, therefore, occurs for each activation and not for the activation of the single account.
How to activate iMessage on iPhone
In order to take advantage of the messaging service offered by Apple, you must first activate iMessage on iPhone: a procedure that takes a few seconds and only requires an active Internet connection.
To activate iMessage, make sure that your iPhone is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or via cellular data network, then press the icon of the gear wheel present on the home screen of the device to access the Settings of iOS. Now, tap on the item Messages, presses on the voice Use your Apple ID for iMessage, enter the Password and press pulsating Log in. After logging in with your account, move the toggle next to the item iMessage da OFF a ON and a notification will warn you that your operator may charge you the cost of an international SMS as anticipated just now. Then confirm by clicking on the option OK, And that's it.
Once iMessage activation is complete, you need to proceed with the service configuration. How to activate iMessage on iPad

If your iPad is equipped with Cellular connectivity and you intend to use a different SIM, repeat the procedure following the instructions described above for iPhone, selecting the phone number associated with the SIM used on the iPad.
How to activate iMessage on Mac
The application Messages it is installed as standard on all Macs and it is possible to send free messages and SMS for a fee (according to your tariff plan) even via your computer. To do this, it is necessary activate iMessage on Mac without additional costs.
After activating and configuring the service on your phone number via iPhone, launch the application Messages on your Mac and, if prompted, log in with the same Apple ID you use with iMessages on iPhone. Now, click on the entry Messages present in the menu bar at the top and press on the option Pref Renze, then presses on the voice Account and, in the left sidebar, select yours account iMessage.
Under the heading You can receive messages on make sure there is a check mark next to yours telephone number and to email addresses associated with your Apple ID, while in the drop-down menu under the heading Start new conversations from select your phone number if you want recipients to see yours telephone number e non l’ID Apple.
For iMessage settings on Mac, select the item Generali and, via the drop-down menu next to the item Keep the messages, choose one of the available options from Per semper, One year o 30 days. Additionally, you can choose the sound to apply when a new message is received via the drop-down menu next to the option Sound message received and you can set the size of the iMessage text using the slider next to the item Text size.
How to use iMessage
Once you've completed the activation and setup of Apple's messaging service, you're ready to get started use iMessage and I assure you it's really child's play. Do not you believe it? Then I'll show you right away.
All you have to do to send messages using iMessage on iPhone and iPad is to follow the procedure for sending a common SMS. Then start the app Messages present on your device (the icon with the white speech bubble on a green background), tap an icon pencil inside a square to write a new message and, in the field A:, type the phone number of the person you want to write to, otherwise tap the button + and choose the contact from your address book.
If the chosen contact has an Apple device and in turn has activated iMessage, the New message become New iMessage and the contact will appear in blu instead of green: this means you can send a text message, voice message, picture, video and more for free using your internet connection.
Now, in the field iMessage type the message you want to send and press the icon of one blue arrow to send it. Instead, press and hold the del icon microphone to record a voice message, then press the ▶ ︎ button if you want to listen to the recording again, otherwise tap on the freccia rivolta verse l'alto to send it or on the button X to delete it.
Also, you can press on the icon of a freccia rivolta verse destra to send multimedia messages such as photos, invitations and much more by choosing one of the available options:
- camera: to send a photo by taking it with the camera or by choosing it from the photo library of your device;
- heart: allows you to access the Digital Touch and send graphic animations created with the touch of your finger, to be applied also on videos recorded live.
- A: Send game invitations, share music, send your location via Google Maps and more, using the applications installed on your device. On iPhone X through this button you can also send animoji, animated emojis that follow the user's facial expressions. To add apps to "share" you need to press the Store button, locate the app of interest and move the relative lever from OFF to ON.
In the chat started, you can press the button information (The letter i top right) to view contact details, such as phone number, images and attachments received, but also set the mode Do not disturb and the function Send read receipts which allows the contact to know if and when you have read the message received.
Also, you can press on the option Submit my current location to let the recipient of the message know your position, otherwise you can tap on the item Share my location and choose one of the options available from Share for an hour, Share until the end of the day e Share indefinitely to let the contact know your movements.
During the conversation, you can press on a received message and apply an appreciation by pressing the icon of a heart, in addition to thumb up, thumb down, double exclamation point, Question mark and option Ah Ah to express a sense of fun. Also, if you want to delete one or more sent and received messages, you can choose the voice Other, select the messages you want to delete and press on the item Delete (in case of a message) or Delete all (in case of multiple selection), while if you have received a photo that you want to save on your device you can press on the item Save and it is automatically added to your iOS library.
All started chats are automatically saved and you can view them from the main Messages screen. Press on it to access and quickly send new messages, otherwise you can press on the item Modification present at the top left, select those of your interest and press on the option Delete to delete them.
Finally, by accessing the iMessage settings, you can synchronize the devices on which you have activated the service, choose whether to set the read sending option and much more. Then click on the icon of gear wheel per accesre alle Settings iOS and tap on the item Messages. From the iMessage settings, you can also set the behavior of the service in case of the absence of an Internet connection: if you want your messages to be sent as normal SMS, move the lever next to the item Send as SMS da OFF a ONotherwise the iMessage will remain pending and will be sent as soon as an Internet connection is available.
