What is Find Friends
Before going into the details of this guide and find out how Find Friends works on Android, you may find it useful to know what this application is for and what services are offered.
Find Friends, also known as Friend locator, is a free application available for Android devices that allows you to know the exact location of friends and relatives who, in turn, have installed the app on their device and are part of the same sharing group (called Circle).
In addition, with Find Friends you can receive notifications when a person reaches a certain place or when they need help. You can follow his movements, view the history of his movements and send private and group messages.
Download Find Friends on Android
download Find Friends on Android, start the Play Store by pressing on its icon (the colored ▶ ︎ symbol) on the home screen of your device, type Find Friends in the search field located at the top and press the icon of magnifying glass to start the search.
Now, locate Find Friends (should be the first result), tap on the i icon three dots and select the item Install from the menu that appears. Alternatively, tap on the app icon in question and, in the new screen displayed, press the button Install.
Wait, then, for the progress bar to reach 100% and for the installation to be completed and tap the button apri to start the application.
Create an account on Find Friends
After downloading the Find Friends app on your device, start it by tapping its icon (i pin on a map) and create your account, which is useful for using the service.

Create a new circle and invite members
Create a new circle o joining an existing circle, it allows you not only to view the location of your friends or family, but also to share your location with them, send messages and much more.
To create a new circle, tap the ≡ button at the top left, choose the option Crea and, in the new screen displayed, presses the button Add a circle. Then enter the name of the circle in the appropriate field (or choose one of the suggested names shown on the screen) and tap on the item Done.
Adesso, select the option Invite new members, note the code of your circle and communicate it to the people of your interest. To view the circles you are part of, tap the button ≡ at the top left and tap on the item My circles. Then place the check mark next to the circle of your interest to view the position of the members.
To leave a circle, tap the ≡ button, select the option Settings, choose the item Circle options, select the circle of your interest and presses the button Get out of this circle. If you are the administrator of a circle, pressing on the item Modification you can either change the name or force the other members to quit by clicking on the del icon basket present next to each member's name.
How to use Find Friends
Once you've created your account and joined a circle of people, you're ready to learn a use Find Friends and deepen the functioning of its main features.
On the main screen of the app there is a list of people who are part of the selected circle and, for each of them, you can view their current position indicated under their name. If you're interested in interacting with a specific person, tap theirs photo and, in the new screen displayed, you can keep track of the movements of the user in question by viewing the history of his movements in the last 7 days. By pressing, instead, on the option Get directions, you can get directions to reach the selected user (a special app must be installed on your smartphone, such as Google Maps).
If you want to send a message to the selected user, tap on the icon speech bubble at the top right, type your message in the field Write message and presses the icon ofpaper airplane to send it. Also, by tapping on the icon of the camera you can send a photo or video, either by selecting it from the gallery of your device or by making it in real time. It will be useful to know that pressing the icon of the handset at the top right, you can make a phone call to the person with whom you started the chat.
In addition to the procedure I have just indicated, you can start a chat (even in a group) by tapping the button ≡ and selecting the option Messages.
If you're wondering if it's possible to add custom places to Find Friends and get notifications when someone reaches the place in question, the answer is yes. To create a new place, tap the button ≡, select the option Places and choose the item Add.
In the new screen that appears, enter the place name in the appropriate field, specify the address in the field Address, set the radius within which to consider a person in that particular place using the cursor at the bottom and presses the button Save. Now, in the section Places, do tap sul name of the place you just created and choose which alerts to activate by moving the levers next to the options Arrives e Part of it da OFF a ON.
To understand better, let's take a practical example: if you want to receive a notification every time your child arrives or leaves the house, access the section Places, fai tap sul pulsating Add, insert Home in the field Place name, specify theaddress in the ready field and the pulsating pigment Save, then tap on the item Home, locate your child's profile and move the relative levers next to the items Arrives e Part of it da OFF a ON.
It will be useful to know that, in addition to alerts to know when a person arrives or leaves from a certain place, you can also receive alerts when your contact has a low phone battery or has started driving. To manage notifications and warning sounds, press the ≡ button, choose the option Settings, select the voice Warning options e fai tap sull'opzione Warning sounds to customize the notifications of your interest.
Finally, you should know that among the Find Friends features there is also the possibility of sending emergency reports to contacts set as Emergency contacts. If you are interested in this feature, you should know that all people in the circle are already automatically emergency contacts. You can add other contacts (even people who don't use Find Friends) by clicking on the button ≡by selecting the option Emergency notice, pressing the button + and selecting the contacts of your interest.
To send an emergency alert, tap the button ≡, tap on the item Emergency notice e fai tap sul pulsating !. Automatically, all the people in the circle and the contacts set as emergency contacts will receive an email and a notification on their smartphone.
