From ForDataRecovery we want to teach you all the aspects related to your digital certificate and your passwords. Obtaining this certification is one of the issues that concerns many people in our country, because it will allow us to identify ourselves on the Internet. In addition, thanks to this we will be able to sign official documents in a safe way, through an asymmetric cryptography without any option to identity theft or fraud. However, this process will have to be carried out through the web page of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, which will not be a problem for you if you follow the steps that we will show you so that you can succeed in your web browser.
Recover the password of your Digital Certificate
We must say that it is strange to say the least that you could have lost this key, since it is part of the software. And although you may call it a private key, you actually forgot the password, so to speak, it is the password for the whole Digital Certificate in general.
We are sorry to tell you that it is impossible to recover it if you have forgotten it, but do not worry, because in ForDataRecovery.com we have a solution for everything , and this case is no exception!
Private key?
If you really can't find your private key, there is only one option, you will have to revoke your old Digital Certificate and then create a new one. Let's say that it is a kind of DNI in online version, and due to the high importance of its functions, as we have explained above, its modification is complex. As you cannot use your certificate, you can revoke it by phone through these numbers: 902200616 // 917406848 // 913878337
If you have any problem, you can always revoke it in person, here through this link you can find the offices.

Once it is revoked, you can easily request a new one, under your name and National Identity Card.
Recover your password
As such we are talking about something not recoverable due to the great importance of the document and in this process fraudulent processes can occur, therefore, you must generate a copy of the certificate itself, and in it, you will assign a new password.
Go to the place where you store the certifications in your browser and export your Digital Certificate, of which we are talking so much, you will be given the option to export it by assigning a password. Save it well, because then you will have to delete it from the store (the certificate for which you have forgotten the password), and import the new one. It's simple!
In a nutshell, it would be something like: Export / Create new password / Delete / Import.
With all this, you will have your Digital Certificate fully operational. Remember this time to write down everything well so you don't forget anything! I hope ForDataRecovery has been useful this time.
How to install and download a digital certificate on Android
Many of the procedures that can be carried out with the various public administrations require the use of a digital certificate. However, this does not mean that you need a computer: you can install a digital certificate using your Android cell phone.
At the time, we already explained how to install a digital certificate on your cell phone or computer. In this case, we will focus on the case of Android to explain how you can carry out this process on your Android smartphone or tablet, whatever the brand and version of its operating system.
Requesting a digital certificate from your cell phone is easier than you think.
Obtain your digital certificate from your cell phone
The first step before you can install the digital certificate is to generate it from your cell phone. Logically, if you already have a certificate and you just want to use it, you can skip this process.
This process is done by following the steps indicated on the official website of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, the body responsible for issuing this type of certificate. The process is summarized in these steps:
- Download and install the Android application "Obtaining the FNMT certificate".
- Open the application you just installed and click on "Request".
- Enter the indicated data: DNI or NIE, name and email.
- Click on the "Send request" button. You will receive an application code that you should save for later use.
These are the four steps you must follow to request the certificate from your Android phone. The application is compatible with any version Android 4.4 and up, and since the vast majority of phones already have Android 9, Android 10 or Android 11, most people should have no problem performing the above process.
Now comes the most tedious process of all, as you will need to visit one of the registry offices. You can check the one closest to your location on the FNMT registry office map. Remember to make an appointment.
There you will have to present the application code you obtained in step 4 of the previous process, as well as prove your identity.
Finally, all that remains is to download the certificate. To do this, just open the FNMT Certificates app on your Android device and tap on the "Apps" section. There you will be able to download your digital certificate.
Installing a digital certificate on Android
It doesn't matter if you use a Xiaomi cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy or a Huawei smartphone: it is possible to install digital certificates on any Android device, regardless of the version of the system they use.
To do this, just follow these steps:
1. Download and install the root certificate
First of all, you must ensure that you have the root certificate issued by the official body. In Spain this is the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, so you will need to go to the root certificate page of the Real Casa de la Moneda and download the root certificate.
A file with the .pfx, .p12, .cer or .crt extension will have been downloaded to your Android smartphone or tablet, which you will need to install. To do this, open the notification that will have appeared on the dashboard, or use a file explorer to go to the download folder.
Open the certificate file and a certificate installation window will appear. If you wish, you can include a name and description for the certificate, e.g. "Root certificate".
When you are finished, you will see a notice at the bottom of the screen indicating that the root certificate has been successfully installed. You can still make sure it is installed by going to Settings> Security> Other Security Settings> User Certificates.
2. Install your digital certificate
You have already installed the FNMT root certificate, but this is not enough to identify yourself and perform procedures with the public administration. Now you must install the certificate you generated previously.
To install the certificate on your Android smartphone, just follow the same steps as above: find the downloaded file with a browser and open it to install the certificate.
If you already have an electronic certificate that you have generated on your computer or by any other method, to transfer it to your cell phone just save it in its memory and then run it with a file explorer.
When you are done, your digital certificate will have been correctly installed on your smartphone, and you will be able to use it whenever you want to identify yourself to public agencies and entities before performing any kind of management.
How to use digital certificates on Android
Installing the digital certificate on your Android phone is just the initial process. Then, it is time to use it to identify yourself to the administrations.
To do this, the next time you have to make a request to a public body, just choose the option "Identify yourself with a digital certificate" -or similar- and a pop-up window will automatically appear allowing you to choose one of the installed certificates -in case there are several-.
All you have to do is select your certificate, click "Accept", and you will be automatically identified and ready to carry out procedures such as, for example, the presentation of the Profit and Loss Statement from your cell phone.
