Preliminary information
Before we get to the heart of the tutorial and actually see how to know the date of issue of your driving license, I want to give you some preliminary information concerning the operation you have set out to carry out.
First of all, you must know that the best way to be able to trace the date of issue of your license is to pay attention to the data that is indicated on the paper document same. However, be aware that it is also possible to trace this information through the Motorist's portal or through theiPatente app, available for both Android and iOS. To do this in the latter cases, it is possible to use the function that allows you to access the balance of the points and, therefore, to the information regarding the date of issue of the document.
Check the license issue date
Now it's finally time to make the verification of the date of issue of the license. As I have already anticipated in the previous lines, to trace this information it is essential to have the paper document issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, whether you want to proceed online.
Paper document
The license issue date can be easily found on the paper document that was issued to you when obtaining / renewing your driving license and is what you find on the facade A (to be clear, the side that has the words "Driving license - Republic of the city", Where your personal data are also listed, such as name, surname, date of birth, etc.). To be more precise, the release date of the driving license is indicated at the number 4a., next to your photo (in the image at the beginning of the chapter, the area in question is circled in red).
If, on the other hand, you want to go back to the date of achievement of the driving license, which may not correspond to the date of issue of the same (for example if you have lost the original document and have requested a duplicate), you must pay attention to the date indicated in the column 10. area of facade B of the document, corresponding to the category of your interest (eg. B, C1, DE, etc.). Easier than that?
Motorist's portal
As I told you a few lines above, the Motorist's portal it does not offer an ad hoc function to trace the license issue date but, since it allows you to check the points balance of the same, you can use this function to verify the information you are looking for.
To subscribe to the Motorist's Potale, click here to go to its home page, click on the link Citizen Registration located on the left and, after having read the privacy policy, click on the link Continue, located at the bottom right.
On the page that opens, provide all the information requested by writing them in the text fields in the form that is proposed to you: name, last name, fiscal Code, e-mail, date of birth, nation of birth, County of birth, birthplace, sex, license expiry and so on.
In the appropriate text field, then provide the verification code which is represented in the image, click on the button Continue and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the registration procedure on the portal: in essence, you will simply have to click on the link that will be sent to the e-mail address you previously provided and log in to your account for the first time.
Once logged in to the driver's portal, click on the button Account balance located in the box Balance Points and, on the page that opens, click on the link Account balance located on the right. Now, scroll through the displayed page for a while, locate the column Date Variation Points and take note of the date located next to the wording DOCUMENT RELEASE SCORE (in the column Event): that is the date the document was issued to you.
IPatente app
If you prefer to proceed from a smartphone or tablet, you can use the app be aware, which is the mobile version of the Motorist's Portal and is available on both Android and iOS devices.
After installing iPatente on your device, start the app and, if you have already created an account on the Driver's Portal, tap the button Log in and log in by writing in the appropriate text fields username e Password and then pressing the button again Log in.
If, on the other hand, you are not yet registered on the Motorist's Portal, tap on the wording Subscribe located at the bottom and complete the registration on the web page that will open in the browser of your device: just follow the instructions that appear on the screen and that I explained in detail in the previous chapter of the tutorial.
Once logged in, press the button (≡) located in the upper right corner of the screen, tap on the item Licenses and Vehicles in the menu that opens laterally on the left and then press on the wording Points. Now, locate the wording Document Release Score present in the column All points and, in correspondence with it, you should be able to see the release date of the document. Simple, right?
