If the card format you own is larger than required, you can alternatively cope with it by going to crop yourself the "superfluous" parts of the SIM. I warn you, however, that this practice could compromise the proper functioning of the card, in particular if you go to erroneously affect the circuits of the same.

How to insert SIM iPad
Having made the necessary clarifications above, let's take action and find out how to insert the SIM in the iPad. Let's start with the "classic" model of the Apple tablet, that is the one defined simply as iPad.
First of all, if your iPad is on, turn it off: to do this, press and continue to hold down the button for a few moments Power (located on the top of the device or on the side, depending on the iPad generation), until the slider for switching off on the display. Then, drag it from left to right to turn off the device.
At this point, take the la metal paper clip which is used to access the SIM slot iPad from the device packaging: it is closed in the white card placed in the center of the box. Therefore, use the paperclip you just recovered to open the slot. You must exert a slight pressure in the hole of the same, until you hear a "click".

How to insert SIM iPad Air

Then know that the procedure you have to put into practice to insert the SIM into the device is not so dissimilar from the one seen in the previous lines, relating to the basic variant of the Apple tablet. It is also valid for all versions of the model in question, therefore: iPad Air, iPad Air 2 e iPad Air (3rd generation).
What you have to do, before anything else, is to worry about turning off the device: to do this, press and continue to hold down the button for a few moments Power (located at the top), until the appearance of the slider for switching off on the screen. Then drag it from left to right and wait for the iPad display to turn off.
Next, take the metal paper clip attached to the iPad sales package (or use a toothpick, a pin or any other thin and pointed object) and remove theslot dedicated to inserting the SIMby applying a slight pressure in the relevant hole, until you hear a "click". If you can't find the drawer in which to place the SIM, know that on all iPad Air it is located on the right side at the bottom.
After removing the SIM slot from your iPad, put the SIM back in, placing it in the shape of the housing, and reinsert the drawer in its place, pushing it gently with your hands.
How to insert SIM iPad Pro
Are you wondering how to insert a SIM into a iPad Pro? I'll explain immediately how to proceed. The procedure is valid for all iPad Pro models, so: 12,9-inch iPad Pro (1st generation), iPad Pro from 10,5 inches, iPad Pro from 9,7 inches, 12,9-inch iPad Pro (2st generation), 12,9-inch iPad Pro (3st generation) e iPad Pro from 11 inches.
First, turn off the device: to do this, if the iPad Pro model you own has a Home button, press and continue to hold down for a few moments on the Power button (located at the top), until you see the switch appear on the screen Swipe to turn off. If, on the other hand, your iPad Pro supports Face ID, press and hold the key to turn it off Power placed at the top e one of the two volume keys located on the side, until you see the on the display slider for switching off. Then, in both cases, drag the stick displayed on the screen from left to right.

Let's see, now, how to insert the SIM in a iPad mini. The procedure is valid for all Apple tablet models belonging to the family in question, therefore: iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 e iPad mini (5th generation).
That said, first turn off the tablet. To do this, press and continue to hold down the key for a few moments Power (located at the top), until the lever appears on the screen Swipe to turn off. Then drag the latter from left to right and wait for the tablet display to turn off.
Next, locate the drawer to insert the SIM, located on the lower right side. Proceed, therefore, to extract the latter by exerting a slight pressure in the special hole with the clip attached to the sales package of the device (or using a toothpick, a pin or any other thin and pointed object), until you hear a "click".
Then, take out the drawer and place your card in the appropriate template. Finally, place the drawer back in its housing, taking care to push it gently, until it is perfectly locked again. Here it is!
How to enter iPad SIM PIN
After inserting the SIM in the iPad, in order to start surfing the Net using the relative data connection, you need to worry about turn on the device again and enter the PIN card release (if required).
So, grab the iPad, press and keep holding the button for a few moments Power (you can find it on the side or at the top, depending on the model), releasing it when the screen lights up and you see the Apple logo (the bitten apple).
After doing this, the screen will appear on the display within a few moments SIM blocked. So, type the PIN of your card in the appropriate field in the center and tap on the item OK.
Then wait a few seconds, to allow the iPad to connect to the network of the telephone operator of your SIM. You will be able to notice this from the appearance of the "cleats" signal at the top right of the screen and the abbreviation relating to the type of connectivity used (Eg. LTE, in case of 4G network). After that, you can finally start taking advantage of your card's data network on the Apple tablet.
