How Instagram views work
Before explaining in detail how Instagram views work it is necessary to make a brief introduction, in order to clarify the difference between the views of the stories and the advanced statistics of the tool Insights of Instagram. The latter allows you to view detailed and in-depth information for all content published within Instagram (and therefore also the posts, as well as for the stories), also offering an analysis related to the trend of the profile.
To access the tool Insights you need to switch from the profile Instagram personal to corporate. This procedure, as I explained to you in my dedicated tutorial, requires as a preliminary operation to create a page Facebook, to make your own profile Instagram to the same. To perform this operation correctly, I refer you to the tutorial on how to create a Facebook page and to the one in which I explain how to connect Instagram to Facebook.
The views of the stories of Instagram instead, they are data that can be viewed by all users who do not need to connect to a page Facebook. However, these only refer to the people who have viewed the content shared within them.
That said, if you only want to see the stories views on Instagram, start the social network application by pressing its icon on your device screen. Then tap on yours profile picture, in order to view the latest shared stories. Now, swipe from bottom to top and you will be able to see the section Views (The symbol of a wink).
This screen shows a list with the names of the people who have viewed your story Instagram and is accessible with the exact same procedure through the application for Android, iOS and Windows 10. From the web version of Instagraminstead, you can only see the number of people who viewed the story and not their names.
How Instagram Insights Work
If you have chosen to create and link a page instead Facebook because you are willing to learn more about how Insights, you will be happy to know that this allows you to analyze in detail your profile, as well as the posts and stories you have published. In the following lines I illustrate in detail how it works with procedures that refer to the use of the Instagram per Android e iOS.
You must in fact know that, unfortunately the Insights they are not viewable through the application for Windows 10 and not even through the web version of the social network. The only solution to access the section Statistics of your account Instagram from a PC consists of using the Facebook Creator Studio tool.
No post
If you want to know more about the people who interact with the content you publish in the form of posts, go to your profile screen Instagram (is what it presents the symbol of a little man). Then tap on one of the published multimedia contents and press the button View statistical data, located in correspondence with the wording Promote.
You will then be able to see a drop-down menu on the screen with the heart symbol (represents the number of "likes" that the content has received), the symbol of a speech bubble (indicates the comments received for that particular content) and the symbol of a bookmark (refers to the number of times the content has been saved by other users).
Expand this menu with a swipe from the bottom to the other, to see the number of interactions the content has received; this is measured in total touches on your post or profile. By means of the wording suggested, you can read the number of accounts reached, indicating the percentage of potential new followers. There is also the wording Impression which, divided into from the home, from the profile, from the hashtags e on the other, is used to understand in which section of Instagram the post you shared got the most views.
In profile
The statistics of the tool Insights they can also be viewed in a specific section dedicated to the profile which shows, at a general level, the progress of the account. To access it, tap the button with the graph symbol, located at the top of your profile. The section Insights of the profile is divided into three macro categories: Activities, Contents e Public, which refer to a specific date range indicated on the screen.
The category Activities shows the box of Interactions (i.e. i total touches on your posts or profile), with a detailed graph showing the interactions broken down over the week. The box suggested instead, it indicates the number of accounts reached (i.e. the people who still do not follow you and therefore the potential followers) in a predetermined period of time. There are also rumors Coverage e Impression: the first refers to the number of unique accounts that have seen the content you have posted, while the second refers to the total number of times your content has been viewed.
The category Contents it is used to view a summary of all published content (posts, stories and possibly also sponsored content), in order to allow the analysis of the interactions they have received. In particular, the voice Feed post shows the number of views for the latest published posts. The voice Stories instead, it indicates the display number for the latter.
Finally, there is the category Public which allows you to see a series of advanced statistics relating to followers: graphs show specific information about the people who follow you, such as gender (Gender), age group (Age range) and the city of origin (Most popular places). Furthermore, in correspondence with the wording follower, it is possible to analyze the times and days in which these are most active.
In the stories
The statistics of the tool Insights are also available for Instagram: tap on yours profile picture, to view the published stories, and then presses on graph symbol, which you find at the wink symbol.
You can thus access the sections Interactions e Cover, which show you respectively the interactions of the users towards the published story and also the number of accounts that have seen these certain contents. In particular, in correspondence with the wording Navigation there are rumors Back, Forward, Next Story e Outputs: data that refers to the specific way in which people interacted with the story you published (for example if they tapped to view the next story, the previous one or if they swiped to skip it).
Workarounds to see Instagram stats
As an alternative to using the tool Insights, there are some free downloadable applications on Android and iOS that can help you analyze your profile Instagram. In this case, however, keep in mind that since these are unofficial solutions integrated with the Instagram, may at any time no longer work properly.
An example of the solutions you were referring to is the application Reports+, which allows you to view different statistics related to your profile Instagram. Available for free download on Android and iOS, the app analyzes information such as the trend of followers in the last few days, also indicating numbers relating to the people who view your profile Instagram, who have chosen to block you and also those who have stopped following you.
To use it, once downloaded and started, press the button Login with Instagram, indicate the login data of your profile (phone number, username o e-email e Password) e cheap with Log in. Once logged in, you can see on the screen a summary section for your account with information such as, for example, the number of followers, people who no longer follow you and people who have viewed your profile.
The app is free but some statistics, such as those showing the complete list of profile visitors, are paid. For unlimited use it is necessary to purchase the version For, the cost of which starts at $ 4,99 per month.
Another application example to use to view the statistics of an account Instagram è Followers Insight which, available for free for Android and iOS, is able to analyze your account, showing you in detail the growth in terms of “likes”, comments and followers. This app also provides some information on what are the most popular content published, based on "likes" and comments. Followers Insight it is free but has advertising banners that, on Android, can be removed by purchasing the paid version (its cost is € 2,19).
There is also the app Follower Tracker for android call Followers Tracker for Instagram on iOS: its main features are similar to the other applications just mentioned, as it shows information about the progress of your account in terms of followers, “likes” and comments. The application is free but has various limitations (for example, it does not show the list of people who view the profile without interacting) and has advertising banners. For unlimited use and without advertising it is necessary to purchase the paid version (the price starts from 2,00 € per month on Android and € 4,99 per month on iOS) with a three-day free trial.
Those I have indicated to you are just some of the applications that can be used for the analysis of an Instagram profile; to learn more about the subject, read my tutorial in which I illustrate other similar apps, also useful for seeing who no longer follows you on Instagram.
