If you have never heard of it, NOW Smart Stick is a "key" produced by Roku that connects to the HDMI port of the TV and allows you to access all the contents of NOW, plus a series of additional apps, such as YouTube, with the possibility to control everything from remote control or smartphone app: I told you about it in more detail in my dedicated article.
Sports passes for one day and one week must be activated before viewing, by responding affirmatively to the warning that appears on the screen when you start viewing a content. Activation must be done within 6 months from the date of purchase of the pass. The viewing days of the 1-day Sport pass start from the date of activation and are consecutive. The one-month ticket, on the other hand, is activated automatically and provides for automatic renewal.
At the moment, there is no free trial of tickets and Sport passes and it is possible to access the contents of the latter from only one device at a time.
Requirements and devices supported by NOW
To take advantage of NOW's football offer, you need to be sure you have an internet connection and a device that can support the service. Below, therefore, you will find a list with all the devices that allow you to see NOW and their software requirements, plus the guidelines relating to the speed of the Internet connection.
- computer - to access NOW contents from a computer, you need to install NOW Player, a free software compatible with Windows (from Windows 7 up) and macOS (from macOS 10.9 up). To browse the service catalog, you can use all the most popular web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.
- Smartphones and tablets - NOW is available as an app for Android and iOS. It is compatible with all Android devices equipped with Android 4.4 or later and with all iPhones and iPads equipped with iOS 9.0 or later. Rooted or jailbroken terminals are not supported.
- Smart TV - the official NOW app is also available on Samsung Smart TVs (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 models) and LG (with WebOs 1.4.0, WebOs 2.0, WebOs 3.0, WebOs 3.5 or WebOs 4.0).
- NOW Smart Stick - it is a "key" made by Roku that connects to the HDMI port of the TV and allows you to access the contents of NOW, as well as many other apps: I told you about it in more detail in my article dedicated to the device.
- NOW Box - it is a multimedia box that connects to the TV via an HDMI port and allows you to access all the contents of NOW, and more: I talked about it in more detail in my post dedicated to the device.
- Video game console - owners of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox One S can access NOW contents by installing the official app of the service on their console.
- Other devices - NOW is also accessible from other devices to be connected to the TV, such as the Vodafone TV set-top box, Apple TV and Google's HDMI Chromecast “key”, which allows the selected contents to be transmitted to the TV on smartphones and tablets.
As regards the Internet connection speed, an ADSL connection is required for at least 2.5 Mbps. You can check if your connection meets the NOW requirements by performing the speed test offered by the service.
How to activate the NOW football offer
To activate the NOW football offer, connected to the official website of the service, scroll the page until you reach the section dedicated to sport and first click on the button Discover the offer, in order to read all the characteristics of the passes and tickets available, and then on the button Choose the offer, to start the offer subscription procedure.
Now you have to choose which version of the pass or Sport ticket to subscribe. As already mentioned in the previous chapter of this tutorial, only one is available Sport Pass at the cost of 14,99 euro / month. Once you have made your choice, click on the button Buy Now corresponding to the step or ticket you wish to activate and proceed with the procedure.
On the page that opens, if you are already subscribed to NOW, click on the button Login, fill out the access form to the service using your credentials and confirm your willingness to purchase the Sport pass or ticket by clicking on the button Confirmation.
Alternatively, if you are not yet a member of NOW, fill out the form Sign up for NOW by entering your address in it e-mail Password you intend to use to access the service and click on the button Continue.
Now fill out the form that is proposed to you by entering all your personal information in it: name, last name, fiscal Code, address, city, POSTAL CODE, province e telephone number.
Choose, therefore, whether to receive communications and commercial offers from Sky and whether to allowanalysis of behavior and preferences to receive personalized commercial initiatives and offers, placing the check mark next to the appropriate boxes, and go ahead by clicking on the button Proceed.
Finally, choose a valid payment method between credit card or prepaid card o PayPal accountclick on your button Proceed and complete the NOW registration procedure (with the purchase of the pass or the Sport ticket) by entering the data of the payment method you have chosen, then the credit card number or the access data of the PayPal account.
How to watch football streaming on NOW

If you want to watch NOW football streaming from your PC, connect to the main page of the service and, if necessary, log in to your account by clicking on the button Log in located at the top right.
Once logged in, you must select any of the sport-related content and, if you have not already done so, you must install the player at NOW on your computer. The NOW player is completely free and is compatible with both Windows and macOS, so you won't have the slightest problem using it.
To proceed, click on the ☰ button located at the top left and select the item first Sport and then that Channels on air from the bar that appears on the side. Once you have started playing the content of your interest, you can use the NOW player controls to manage its viewing: at the top, from left to right, you can find the volume control bar, the button to choose audio language and subtitles (the comic), the button to activate the full screen view and the button to adjust the streaming quality (reduced or standard), which is represented by a gear icon.
At the bottom, however, there are the Description of the program on air, the bar indicating its duration and the button Change channel, which allows you to view a list of NOW sports channels and quickly switch between them.
Give smartphone and tablet
An urgent commitment pushes you to leave the house on the day your favorite team plays? No problem: with NOW you can watch football matches even on the move, from smartphones and tablets, using the official application of the service for Android and iOS.
If you have a device Android, you can download the NOW app by simply opening the Play Store (the colored ▶ ︎ symbol on the home screen), looking for “NOW” in the appropriate bar located at the top and tapping first on the name of the application in the search results and then on the button Install. The procedure to follow is disarmingly simple: if you have a Smart TV or a game console between PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox One S, all you have to do is access the application store on the device, look for theNOW app and install it (at this juncture, my tutorials on how to download apps on Samsung Smart TVs and how to download apps on LG Smart TVs may help you).
If you have NOW Smart Stick or NOW Box, this step is not necessary as the NOW app is already included “as standard” in the device. The same goes for Chromecast, which relies on the NOW app for smartphones and tablets to transmit content to the TV.
Once the NOW app is started, the steps to take are almost the same on all devices: you need to log in to your account, then use the side navigation menu to go to Sport e Channels on air and you have to select the channel to watch. If you have activated the Sport pass in daily or weekly version, you must consent to its activation and the streaming will begin.
Also, if you have a NOW Smart Stick, for an NOW Box or chromecast, you can send NOW contents from your smartphone or tablet to the TV simply by pressing thedevice icon present in the NOW app (top right), by selecting the name of your Smart Stick, NOW Box or Chromecast from the menu that is proposed to you and choosing the option Watch on TV after selecting the content of your interest.
How to deactivate the NOW football offer
One of the main advantages of NOW over traditional pay TV services is that it can be deactivated at any time at no cost. If you have subscribed to the monthly Sport ticket and want to deactivate its automatic renewal, connected to the NOW main page, log in to your account (if necessary) and first click on the you don't know placed at the top right and then on the item My offer present in the menu that appears.
On the page that is shown on the screen, click on the button Modification placed next to the name of the Sport pass to be deactivated, put the check mark next to the reason that is pushing you to cancel your subscription (eg.
