Nintendo Wii models
Over the years, several models of Nintendo Wii, which I will illustrate below. Specifically, I'm talking about the Wii Mini, more compact and cheaper console than the first Wii, less sold than the classic counterpart, and the Wii U, a true update of the original Wii and progenitor of the modern Nintendo Switch, which did not meet the public's favor and was therefore soon "forgotten".
Wii
Il Original Nintendo Wii it was first released in 2006 and is characterized by some accessories and unique features compared to other consoles of the same generation. For one thing, the Wii is characterized by a type of control altogether wireless, which exploits the a infrared.
Among the accessories that are always distributed in the Wii package, there are the famous infrared controllers, i WiiMote, distributed together with a nunchuck, which is a second mini-controller that, when connected to the WiiMote, is used in games that require the use of both hands.
In the most recent packages, i Wii MotionPlus, accessories that can be connected to the controllers, which give them a more accurate precision in movement. Some games, like Wii Sports Resort, cannot be played without Wii MotionPlus.
In the package there is always one infrared bar, which plugs into the back of the Wii and sits on top of or in front of the TV to allow connectivity with controllers and other accessories input (such as steering wheel or scale for Wii Fit), as well as power pack e composite cable. The internet connection is guaranteed by the Wi-Fi integrated console.
As for memory, the standard Wii model features an input for SD cards e SDHC to 32 GB and an internal memory from 512 MB. This model is completely backward compatible with games and accessories for GameCube via hardware and with older generation consoles via software, through the internal emulator Virtual Console.
Wii Mini
Il Nintendo Wii Mini was released in Europe in 2013, with the aim of reducing the price of the Wii and making it accessible to a wider audience. The reception, however, was really lukewarm, as the console recorded several really important shortcomings.
Unlike the standard Wii, in fact, it is completely no Wi-Fi internet connection (and consequently all the channels connected to it, such as the Wii Shop o WiiConnect24), as well as the slot for expanding the console memory via SD cards, which makes the channel unusable Gallery.
Furthermore, backwards compatibility is not provided with the games and accessories of the GameCube. I recommend that you only get a Wii Mini if you intend to play offline and only want to use the console to play a few games at home with your friends.
In any case, the console is distributed with a WiiMote it's a nunchuck, and is only available in colors black and red.
Wii U
Il Nintendo Wii U represents a real upgrade of the standard Wii, as it introduces a new control system, called Wii U Pad. Together with the console, in fact, a tablet proprietary, which allows you to support some games for portable mode and use additional menus for others.
The need to update the Nintendo Wii to make it competitive with the consoles of its generation, such as PS4 e Xbox One, has led Nintendo to adopt some level upgrades for the Wii U hardware, such as the connection standard HDMI, the display in Full HD 1080p e four USB ports can be used to expand the memory via hard drive.
The development of a new disc reading system, has allowed the creation of some titles exclusive for Wii U, while it remains the complete backward compatibility with games developed for Wii Standard. The console was decommissioned in 2017 after a very lukewarm reception from critics and audiences, following the launch of Nintendo Switch, which instead had overwhelming success.
In this guide I will mainly focus on the most popular of the models, namely the Classic Wii.

First take the RCA cable and check the back of your TV for the typical inputs yellow, red e White to which the ends are to be connected. If they are not present, you can use any SCART socket, to which you can connect the cable using the supplied adapter.
You can recognize it by the squat and rectangular shape. Whatever the connection on the back of the TV, you must connect the cable to the console through the input named OF MULTI OUT, located on the back of the Nintendo Wii.
Once the first end is connected to the Wii, connect the RCA cable to the TV, using the three output cables or the supplied SCART socket, respecting the order of the colors. This will allow viewing in 720p, across the canal SCART o AV of your TV.
If you want to connect the Nintendo Wii with a cable HDMI, due to the absence of other inputs on your TV, you can refer to some adapters on sale in the main online stores. Some of these adapters allow viewing at 1080p (be aware that the image quality should be the same, but the black bands will be eliminated).
