Open Pages files on your computer
April Pages file on computer it might seem like a trivia, but for Windows users it isn't at all. In fact, in order to view a file with the .pages extension, it is necessary to use Pages, the word processing software available only for Apple devices. However, there are some tricks that allow you to open a Pages file on Windows as well.
The first solution to open a Pages file on Windows that you can consider is using iCloud, the famous cloud storage service provided by Apple. Then connect to the iCloud website, enter your Apple ID in the field Apple ID and click the freccia rivolta verse destra, then enter the Password in the appropriate field and presses the icon again freccia rivolta verse destra to log into your iCloud account. Upon first access, you will be asked to enter a verification code which will be sent to the devices associated with your Apple ID. Then enter the 6-digit code in the field under the item Two-factor authentication and choose whether to authorize the browser in use (so as not to have to repeat the authentication procedure again) by pressing one of the buttons between Not now, Do not authorize e Authorize.
If, on the other hand, you don't have an Apple ID yet, click on the entry Don't have an Apple ID? Create yours now and, in the new open page, fill in the registration form. After entering all the required data, click on the button Continue to receive an email containing a verification code: enter it in the field Verify the email address to create your new Apple ID, pigia sul pulsating Continue And that's it. Now, click on the entry Pages present in the main screen of your iCloud account, presses on the items Continue e Use Pages and click sul pulsating Charge (l'icona della arrow inside a cloud) present at the top. Then select the file to upload and wait for it to be processed, then double-click on it preview image to open it. In the new open page, you can view the file with the possibility of making changes using the tools at the top and in the sidebar on the right.
Once you have finished viewing and editing the file, you can download it both in Pages format and in PDF, DOC or ePub format. Press the icon of the wrench present at the top, select the item Download a copy from the menu that appears and click on one of the items between Pages, PDF, Word ed ePub to start the download.
You must know that on Windows, in addition to viewing via iCloud, there is also an additional trick to view Pages files. To put it into practice, right-click on the Pages file, select the item Rhinomine from the menu that opens and replace the extension .pages with the extension .zip. Now, extract the contents of the zipped file and double click on the file preview.jpg to view the contents of the Pages file. Being an image and not a text file, you can understand that you will not be able to apply changes and that this trick is only useful for viewing the contents of the file.
If, on the other hand, you have a Mac and a Pages file to open, just double-click the file to open it with Pages. The software is installed “standard” on all Macs: if you have uninstalled it, you can download it for free from the App Store.
Open Pages files on smartphones and tablets
If you don't have an iPhone / iPad, that's not possible April Pages files on smartphones and tablets as android devices do not support this file format. Furthermore, it is not possible to implement even the solution described for Windows PC since Android browsers are not supported by iCloud, thus preventing access.
So if you have a smartphone or tablet Android, you have no possibility to open a Pages file other than to convert the file to other formats as I will show you in the next paragraphs. Up iPhone / iPadInstead, you can open files with .pages extension by pressing on the file itself, while if you also want to make changes you have to download the application Pages, available for free through the official Apple store.
Then start theApp Store pressing on its icon (the letter "A" on a light blue background) and tap on the item Search present in the menu below. Then type Pages in the field Search, pigia sul pulsating Search present on the keyboard of your device to search for the application, then locate Pages among the search results and presses the buttons Get e Install to download and install the application. You may be asked to verify your identity using Touch ID, Face ID, or entering your Apple ID password.
Now, start Pages by tapping its icon (a white pen on orange background) and presses on the voice Shop by Department to view available Pages files. Press on the one you are interested in and make the changes, then tap on the item end to save and close the file.
Convert Pages files
If you need to view a Pages file on Windows or Android devices and you don't want to get lost in recordings like those proposed in the previous paragraphs, you can choose a more drastic solution: convert Pages files in other formats.
To convert a file with the extension .pages into DOC, PDF, ePub, etc., connect to the site of CloudConvert, a free online converter that allows you to work on a huge range of files in various formats. On the main page of the service, click on the entry Select files, select the Pages file on your computer and wait for it to load. Once the file has been uploaded, the writing convert anything to anything present at the top will become convert pages to anything.
Now, press on the voice anything and, from the menu that appears, select the option Document and the format in which you want to convert the file by choosing between DOC, DOCX, PDF, HTML e TXT. Then click the button Start conversion at the bottom and wait for the conversion to be completed, then press the green button Download to download the new file to your computer. CloudConvert is also available as an application for iOS devices, but not for Android. In the latter case, it is usable and fully functional from the browser.
If, on the other hand, you have a Mac, you can convert your Pages file to another format without resorting to third-party converters. In fact, with Pages you can export a file in numerous formats, such as PDF, DOC, RTF, ePub and TXT. Then open the Pages file to convert and click the button Fillet present in the menu bar at the top, then presses on the item Export as from the menu that appears and click on one of the options between PDF, Word (for export in DOC format), Only text (to save in TXT format), RTF format ed ePub.
