Preliminary operation
Before going into the details of this guide and explaining yourself in detail how to join two Facebook pages, let me tell you what the requirements are so that it is possible to "merge" the pages of your interest.
First, it will be useful for you to know that to merge two Facebook pages you need to be CEO of both pages. Furthermore, the latter must have similar names, represent the same object or deal with the same topic and, if they refer to a physical address, this must also match.
To check the data indicated above, connect to the main Facebook page and, if you have not already done so, log in to your account (in this case, my guide on how to access Facebook may be useful). Now, click on the icon of freccia rivolta verse il basso located at the top right and select the page of your interest, then choose the item Settings e seleziona l'opzione Roles on the page visible in the sidebar on the left.
On the new page that opens, make sure the option is next to your name CEO, otherwise write down the name of the page administrator, ask him to change your role (my guide on how to appoint a Facebook page administrator might be useful), also explaining your intention to merge the page in question with another page Facebook.
If, on the other hand, you are already the administrator of the two pages you intend to merge and you want to check if a physical address is set, access the pages to be checked, select the item Settings e fai clic sull'opzione Page information. In the new screen that appears, locate the section Location and check for a physical address. To change it, change the data shown in the fields Address, City e POSTAL CODE e pulsing sul pulsating Save Changes, otherwise remove the check mark next to the option It has an address to remove the address from your page.
If you do not have a computer available, you can also change the roles and address of your page from smartphones and tablets by downloading the application Facebook Business Suite for Android and iOS devices. After downloading and installing it on your device, start it by tapping on its icon, log in to your account and choose whether or not to activate notifications.
Now, tap on miniature located at the bottom left, select the page of your interest, press onsquares icon located at the bottom right and choose the item Settings from the proposed menu. To check your role on the page, tap on the item Change the Page roles (if you are not an administrator, the option is View page roles) and make sure the option is under your name CEO.
Download content from a Facebook page
Download the content of a Facebook page is a procedure that allows you to download a copy of the page of your interest, saving posts, photos and videos published in it and information relating to the roles and description of the page.
To proceed, log into your account, click on the icon freccia rivolta verse il basso and selects the page which you intend to make a backup copy of. Then choose the option Settings, make sure the item is selected Generali, locate the option Download the page and fai clic sulle voci Modification e Download page.
In the new screen that appears, put the check mark next to the information you want to save (Post, Photo and video, Events, Page profile information, Other page activities e Page settings), choose the download format (HTML o JSON), select the quality of the multimedia contents (high, half o low) e pulsing sul pulsating Create the file.
As soon as the process of creating a copy of your page is completed, you will receive an email containing a download link: click on it within 4 days to download the content of the page to your computer.
Merge two Facebook pages from a computer
To join two Facebook pages from a PC, connect to the main page of the famous social network and log in to your account, then click on the icon of the freccia rivolta verse il basso present at the top right and, from the menu that appears, select one of the two pages you want to merge.
On the main screen of the chosen Facebook page, click on the entry Settings, make sure the option is selected Generali in the sidebar on the left, press the button Modification related to the item Merge pages e clicca sull'opzione Merge double pages. Then enter the Password of your Facebook account and presses the button Continue.
In the Request to merge duplicate Pages, locate the drop-down menus Choose a page visible under the writing Choose the two Pages you want to merge, select the two pages of your interest and press the button Continue. In the new screen displayed, indicate the page you want to keep and that will acquire the "Likes" of the other page previously selected via the drop-down menu Choose a page and click on the button Keep the page.
Before confirming your intention to merge the selected pages, it will be useful to know that merging is immediate and irreversible. By pressing the button Request union, the two previously selected pages will be merged immediately and you will no longer be able to access the page you have chosen not to keep.
That said, click on the button Request union and the message You have successfully requested to merge the pages will confirm the request. Then click on the button OK to complete the procedure and return to the main screen of the Facebook page you have decided to keep.
Merge two Facebook pages from smartphones and tablets
If you are wondering if it is possible merge two Facebook pages from smartphones and tablets, the answer is yes. However, it is not possible to do this using the application of the famous social network.
To proceed, open the browser you usually use for browsing the Internet (eg. Chrome your android e Safari on iOS), connected to Facebook and, if necessary, log in to your account. Then tap the button ≡ and select the page of your interest.
In the new screen that appears, tap on the item Other, select the option Change settings from the menu that opens and choose the item Generali. Now, tap on the option Merge pages, enter your account password in the field Password e pulsing sul pulsating Continue, then select the two pages you want to merge using the drop-down menus Choose a page e fai tap sul pulsating Continue.
Change Facebook page name
If, after selecting the pages to merge you are interested in, you have not been able to forward your request because you have displayed the message on the screen These Pages cannot be merged because the Page names are not similar, you should know that you can try to change the name of one of the two Facebook pages and, subsequently, repeat the procedure to request the union.
To proceed, click on the icon freccia rivolta verse il basso located at the top right, select the page to be modified from the menu that appears and, in the new screen displayed, click on the item Information that you find on the left. In the box Generali, scegli l'opzione Modification placed next to the current name of your page, write the new page name in the appropriate field and presses the buttons Continue e Request the change.
The Facebook team will review your request and get back to you within 3 days. To view the status of your request, click on the items Settings e Assistance messages for pages. On this screen, if your request is accepted, you will see the message Your Page name change request has been approved. In that case, you should know that you will not be able to hide the page or change its name again for 7 days.
Unlike joining two pages, you can also change the name of a Facebook page from smartphones and tablets using the application for Android and iOS devices. After starting the latter and logging into your account, tap the button ≡ and select your page.
In the new screen that appears, locate the box Information, tap on the item Propose changes e seleziona l'opzione Change name.
