Preliminary operation
call for free with Facebook you must have an account on the famous social network. If you don't have one yet, you should know that it is possible to register on Facebook both from smartphones and tablets, using the app for Android and iPhone / iPad devices, and from a computer, via browser.
In the first case, start the Facebook app, tap the buttons Create a new account e Start and enter the required data in the fields Your name, Last name, Birthday, Gender (Donna, Man, Custom option) and the first button NEXT.
At this point, choose whether to register using your email address, entering it in the field Please enter your email address, or whether to use your mobile number by choosing the option Use your mobile number. Regardless of the choice made, then specify one Password to use to access your account in the appropriate field and press the button SUBSCRIBE, to complete the registration and create your account.
If you prefer to register with Facebook from a computer, connected to the main page of the social network, enter your data in the fields Your name, Last name, Mobile number or email address e Create password, specify yours date of birth and yours generate d'appartenenza and click on the button SUBSCRIBE. At this point you are ready to make calls and video calls with Facebook, both to users that you have added to your friends and to those who are not included in the list of your friends on Facebook.
In addition, it will be useful to know that from smartphones and tablets it is possible to initiate a call using the app Messenger (Android / iOS / iPadOS) while from a computer it is sufficient to access Facebook through one of the browsers that support calls (at the time of writing this guide, they are compatible Chrome e Firefox). In both cases, as you can imagine, an Internet connection is required to initiate and receive a call.
Of course, calls via Facebook are free, but on mobile devices, if there are no Wi-Fi connections available, they will consume data traffic.
How to call for free with Facebook from smartphones and tablets
As mentioned in the introductory lines of this guide, for call for free with Facebook from smartphones and tablets it is necessary to use Messenger, the application connected to the famous social network that allows you to communicate with other users registered on the platform.
First, then, access the store of your device, locate the app in question and start the download (for the detailed procedure you can take a look at my guide on how to download Messenger), then open Messenger and tap the button Continue eat [nome], to log in with your Facebook account. Also, if you wish, select the option Attiva, to allow Messenger to access your telephone contacts. To find out more, I leave you to my tutorial on how to access Messenger.
Now, tap on the item Chat in the menu located at the bottom (on iPhone / iPad it is the icon of speech bubble), in order to view the list of the latest chats; then select the contact of your interest and, in the new screen displayed, tap the icon of handset, to initiate the call. By pressing, instead, on the icon of video camera, you can make a video call.
Alternatively, in the screenshot Chat, you can write the name of the person you want to call in the field Search, press on the contact in question, to open the chat, and tap on the icon of handset, to initiate the call.
Also, if you have a device Android, you can call a person who is in your phone's contact list. To do this, select the item People visible in the menu located at the bottom, tap on thecalendar, at the top right, choose the contact to call and, in the new screen displayed, press the icon of handset, to initiate the call via Facebook.
Finally, if you are wondering if it is possible to access Messenger without downloading it, the answer is yes. However, you should know that in this case there are not many features available, including calls and video calls: you can find everything explained in the tutorial that I have just linked to you.
How to call for free with Facebook from PC
It was preferred call for free with Facebook from PC and you have a computer with Windows 10, you should know that you can download the Messenger application from the Microsoft Store and use the latter to make calls and video calls to users of your interest who have a Facebook account.
To proceed, start Messenger and, on the main screen, you can view your recent chats. To call one of the contacts with whom you have recently chatted, all you have to do is select the chat of your interest and click on the icon of the handset, to start an audio call, or on the icon video camera, to make a video call.
If you want to call someone you haven't chatted with recently, click the option Search, top left, enter the name of the person to call in the appropriate field and click on the contact of your interest, to open the chat. Then click on the icon of handset or of video camera to initiate a call or video call, and that's it.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to use the browser installed on your computer, I remind you that only Chrome e Firefox support calls via Facebook. Then start one of the browsers in question, connected to the main Facebook page and log in to your account (if you have not already done so), entering the data in the fields Email or phone e Password.
Once this is done, click on the icon speech bubble, at the top right, to view your recent chats, and select the one you are interested in. If, on the other hand, you want to call a contact with whom you have not yet started a chat, press on the voice Messenger visible in the sidebar on the left, enter the name in the field Search on Messenger and, in section Contacts, click on the person you want to call, to open the chat.
Now, click on the icon telephone cornet, at the top right, and wait for the user you are calling to answer your call. It will be useful to know that during the call you can use various tools, visible below: Mute your microphone (l'icon del microphone) to disable the microphone; Enable your video (the icon of camera) to switch between a call and a video call e Add members to the group (the icon oflittle man) to add more people to the call.
To end the call, however, you have to press on the option End call (the icon of white handset on red background) and, subsequently, on the item Close, to close the window.
