SPID: what it is and what it is for
Before getting into the driving and seeing how to get the SPID code, let me explain you a little more in detail what is this tool and what is it for.
Lo SPID (Public Digital Identity System) is a unique authentication system offered to citizens and companies, to facilitate access to online services provided by the Public Administration and other entities. Thanks to it it is possible to access various services always using the same credentials, which must be requested from one of the many Identity Provider (o certification bodies) available.
The SPID is not only simple to use, but it is also extremely secure, since it allows you to authenticate based on three levels of security: the level 1 guarantees access through the use of a username and password; the level 2 allows you to do it with username, password and "disposable" password (OTP) to be created via a dedicated device or via an app for mobile devices; the level 3 (still unused) instead allows access via a smart card and password.
The SPID request can be made upon completion of the age of majority. To do this, you need to have a valid identity document (identity card, driving license, passport, health card with tax code or residence permit, if you are not in possession of cittàn citizenship).
You must also have a cellphone number it's a email address, necessary for the completion of the procedure. In addition, to carry out the recognition remotely, you need to have one smartphone or PC with webcam.
How to get the SPID code
Let's go straight to the point and see in detail how to get the SPID code through some of the main certification bodies available (here you can find the complete list).

How can you make your request? First of all, go to the Poste ID website, click on the button Register now located on the left and choose the identification method you prefer (Recognition in person, With electronic document (passport or identity card), SMS on Certified Mobile, BancoPosta reader, National Service Card o Digital signature).
The next step is to fill in the text fields in the forms proposed to you, specifying all the data required to complete the procedure, and to carefully follow the instructions given to you based on the previously chosen recognition method. More info here.
