How to fix the error on Android
If you want to fix the error No applications found to open URLs on your smartphone or tablet Android, in the next chapters I will give you some tips that could help you achieve this goal.
Change the default browser
If your device Android fails to open a URL, the problem could probably lie in the fact that the association between the URI protocol for launching links and the app for Internet browsing has been removed.
On Android, in fact, it is possible to choose which app to open the URLs with but, in some cases, this association may be missing or simply the chosen app, due to some error, no longer starts. In these cases, the most immediate solution is to try to replace the Internet browsing app with another one or indicate the one already installed on the device, in case the option is empty.
In any case, I recommend that you try to install another web browser, so as to try to understand if the problem lies in the Internet browsing app you used previously. In this regard, I suggest you take a look at the apps that I suggested in my guide on the best browsers for Android.
That said, launch the app Settings (the gear icon that you can find on the home screen or in the app drawer) and select the items App > App predefinite > Browser from the menu that opens. At this point, choose the Web browser among those listed and try again to open a URL.
Check for disabled apps
Another solution you can put into practice is to check if some system apps have been disabled by mistake. If you are using the default web browser, go to the panel Settings, which you find on the home screen or in the drawer, and select the items App > App > Chrome (or the name of the default web browser) from the menu that is proposed to you.
At this point, check if the button is present in the app tab Attiva, up. If so, it means that the browser has been disabled and it is therefore necessary to reactivate it. Then press the button Attiva, to restore browser operation.
Always within the section App, also locate the app Google Play Services and make sure, just for the sake of scruple, that the latter is also active (as long as your smartphone is equipped with Google services). You just have to update the app, as you find written in the next chapter, and check if the problem is solved.
Update apps
If you are unable to open a URL on your smartphone or tablet and the steps you followed in the previous chapters did not lead to a resolution of the problem, you are probably dealing with a web browser bug that prevents URLs from opening.
In this case, the only thing you can do is uninstall the web browser and reinstall it. However, this operation, which I told you about in this guide, is not feasible if you only have the Internet browser pre-installed on Android: this app cannot in fact be removed using the default function. of the operating system and it is not recommended to do this through workarounds (as this may compromise the stability of the system).
For this reason, the only solution you can take is to restore the app to its initial settings, removing all updates received up to that moment, and then attempting to update it to the latest version available.
To do this, launch the app Settings, select the items App > App > Chrome (or the name of the pre-installed web browser) from the next menu and press the key disable. At this point, press on confirmation button in the message below, to reset the app.
Once this is done, open the Play Store Android and press the ☰ icon, at the top left. At this point, in the menu you see, select the item Le mie app ei miei giochi and, in the card Updates, first prize Update found next to the web browser. By doing so, the app will be restored with the latest update available.
Reset system preferences
If the solutions mentioned in the previous chapters don't help you in any way, you can try reset system preferences. This practice allows you to reset all system preferences for which specific protocols have been associated with apps for the execution of commands, such as opening a URL using your favorite web browser.
To do this, launch the app Settings and tap on the items App> App. At this point, press the ⋮ icon located at the top right and, in the box that is shown to you, select the item Reset app preferences. Then confirm the procedure you are carrying out by pressing the button Reset that you find in the message below, and so you may be able to solve the problem you ran into.
If you still can't fix it, then you can try resetting the device or updating Android. Either way, remember to back up your data first, so you don't risk losing anything.
