How Rakuten TV works on a computer
To start watching content of interest to you on Rakuten TV, including free content, you need to register for the service and create your account. To do this, connected to the official Rakuten TV website, click on the button Subscribe, top right, and fill out the registration form with the requested data.
Then enter yours email address in the appropriate fields, create a password (at least 8 characters) to associate with your account by entering it in the field Password, place a check mark next to the option I accept the conditions of use, I have read the Privacy and Cookie Policy, I accept the contractual conditions and press pulsating Subscribe.
At this point you are ready to choose one of the free Rakuten TV content and start playing it. To do this, click on the option Free, top left, and locate the film, documentary or cartoon of your interest. To view all available free titles, click on the icon arrow related to the category of your interest (Rakuten Stories, Free movies, Docs, Rakuten viki e Kids) or, if available, click on the item View all.
I point out that pausing with the mouse pointer on thecover image of any content, you can view its description and various details (eg. year of publication, generally etc.). Also, by clicking on the buttons Trailer e Add to my favorites, you can view the trailer of the content in question or add it to the list My favorites of your account.
Once you have chosen the content you want to watch, click on its cover image and, in the new open page, click on the button Look now, to start playback. As mentioned above, free content is visible with ad breaks.
If, on the other hand, you want to rent or buy a movie or a TV series, all you have to do is pause with the mouse pointer on the option Cinema, in the top menu, and select the option of your interest: All genres to view the complete catalog of available films; Family for films suitable for the whole family e TV Series to access the section dedicated to the series.
Once this is done, locate the content of your interest, click on its cover image and, in the new open page, click on the button Look now. At this point, click on the item Rent from [price] (option not available for TV series), to rent the content in question, or choose the option Buy from [price], to purchase the chosen film or TV series.
To complete the purchase / rental by paying by credit / debit card, press on the item Add a new credit or debit card, enter the data in the fields Cardholder's Name, Card number e Expiration date and click on the button Add credit card.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to complete the payment with PayPal, choose the option Connect a new PayPal account, enter your PayPal account details in the fields Email or mobile number e Password and click on the buttons Log in e Accetta and continue, to link your PayPal account to Rakuten TV. This operation is only necessary the first time: after having associated a payment method to your account, simply select the one you are interested in at the time of payment.
At this point, put the check mark next to the option you prefer between Rent SD, Rent HD, Rent UHD, Buy SD, Buy HD e Rent UHD (the available options may vary depending on the content chosen) and click on the button Confirmation, to complete the purchase or rental and add the content in question to your account. To access the list of all purchased / rented content, press on yours usernameat the top right, and select the option Video library give the menu check if you press.
In the new open page, click on the content of your interest and click on the button Look now, to start playback. As mentioned in the opening lines of this guide, rented content is available for 48 hours from the moment of payment: during this period you can see it as many times as you want.
How do you say? Would you like to watch one of the subscription content available on STARZPLAY? If so, select the option Subscription in the top menu and click on the button Try it for free (if you have a coupon to redeem, click on the item first Redeem the coupon). In the new opened page, choose the payment method you prefer among credit / debit card e PayPal and enter the data in the appropriate fields (this is not necessary if you have already associated a payment method to your account).

Complete the activation of STARZPLAY, access the section again Subscription, locate the content you want to watch and click on the button Look now, to start playback. By pressing, instead, on the option Add to my favorites, you can add the title in question to the list of your favorite contents that you can view by clicking on yours username, top right, and selecting the option My favorites.
Finally, you should know that at the end of the STARZPLAY free trial, the subscription will automatically renew for 4,99 euros / month. If you want to turn off automatic renewal, click on yours username, at the top right, select the option Settings from the menu that opens and, in the new screen that appears, select the tab Your plan.
Then locate the entry Are you planning to unsubscribe?, click on the relevant option Click here and click on the button Yes, I cancel, to confirm your intention and disable the automatic renewal of STARZPLAY. If you change your mind, you can reactivate your subscription by clicking on the button Renew.
How Rakuten TV works on smartphones and tablets
As mentioned in the opening lines of this guide, Rakuten TV is also available as an application for Android and iPhone / iPad devices. After downloading the app in question from your store smartphone / tablet, start it, press the button Create a new account/Subscribe, enter the required data in the fields Email, Password e Confirm password, put the check mark necessary to accept the terms of service and the privacy policy and tap the button Registration/Create your account.

At this point, if your intention is to watch free Rakuten TV content, tap on the option Free located in the menu at the bottom and, in the new screen displayed, find the content of your interest. Alternatively, tap on one of the options visible at the top between Entire catalog, Entrainment , Adventure, Action, Comedy, Documentary, Fantasy, Horror, For the whole family, Romantic etc. and, in the new screen that appears, select the option Videos, to view movies for rent / purchase, or TV Series, for TV series available for purchase (series rental is not available).
Once you have made your choice, click oncover image of the content to watch and press on the option you prefer between Rent from [price] e Buy from [price]. Finally, if available, choose whether to rent / buy the low quality version (SD) or in high definition (HD) and complete the payment by entering your details credit card, if you have an Android device, or via iTunes, if you use an iPhone / iPad.

If, on the other hand, you have a iPhone / iPad (or you have an Android device but prefer to pay with PayPal), to activate a subscription you must proceed via the browser, following the instructions I have given you in the lines dedicated to the operation of Rakuten TV on a computer. By doing so, you also have the option to activate the 7-day free trial.
After activating your subscription, start the Rakuten TV app again, access the section Subscription, choose the content you want to watch and press the button Look now, to start the vision.
How Rakuten TV works on TV
As I have already mentioned in the opening lines of this guide, you can also watch Rakuten TV on Smart TV. All you have to do is go to your TV's app store, download theRakuten TV application and then log into your account (or create one if you haven't already).
At this point, select one of the options available in the top menu: Free, to access free Rakuten TV content; Cinema to view the titles available for rental and purchase e Subscription to access the catalog of visible contents with the STARZPLAY subscription.
If you don't have a Smart TV or your TV is not compatible with Rakuten TV, you can download the video streaming service app at Xbox One or use chromecast.
