How Caliber works
Once you have started Caliber, you should find yourself in front of a window containing the buttons to access the most important features of the program: adding, reading and modifying the data of a book and converting from one format to another. Below I'll explain how to use them.
Add a book
Adding a digital book to the Caliber library is very simple: first, access the section Caliber Library pressing the appropriate button, click on the button Add located at the top left, then navigate to the folder that contains the book of your interest and select it with a double click. Alternatively, you can add an eBook to Caliber's digital library by simply dragging it with the mouse inside its window.
For your information, the program is capable of importing and reading eBooks in CBZ, CBR, CBC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, TCR e TXT.
Once I add a book, you can quickly view its cover and main information (e.g. author and publication date) by clicking on it and looking at the right side of the program interface.
If you prefer, you can also activate the display in "grid" mode by clicking on the button Layout, located at the bottom right, and selecting the option Cover grid.
Note: as needed, you can also add entire folders or entire archives containing books. To access these kinds of "advanced" options, click on arrowhead down located immediately next to the button Add.
View a book
Reading a book from within Caliber is very simple: just double-click on its preview located in the Caliber library or, if you have activated grid display, on its cover.
By doing this, the eBook will be opened with the default reader associated with the source file format (eg. Microsoft Edge / Preview for ePub files). If a special reader is not installed on the computer, the book will be opened with the internal viewer of Caliber.
If you wish, you can "force" the use of the latter also for all other eBooks: click on the preview of the book you are interested in, then on the arrowhead down situata accanto to the pulsating Read, then select the item Read with Caliber's ebook viewer located in the menu that appears.

As a rule, the built-in viewer can remember where you left off reading, restoring it the next time you open the book. This, however, does not happen for all formats, as there are file types that do not support this feature (eg PDFs obtained from a simple "scan" and not paginated according to the criteria provided by eBooks).
Edit the metadata of a book
Did you notice an error in the book's author name, title, or other descriptive data? No problem: Caliber provides the ability to quickly change the metadata of the book, adapting them to your preferences. Keep in mind that this type of modification is "limited" to the Caliber library and will not be applied to the file.
