Now you have to accept the Google terms of use by placing the check mark on the boxes I accept the Google Terms of Service e I accept the processing of my data as described above and as explained in the privacy regulations: once this operation is done, click on the blue button Create account place at the bottom and that's it.
Now that you have created your Google account, you can finally use Google Alert by following the instructions you find in the following chapter. If, on the other hand, you are not clear about some steps on how to create a Google account, do not hesitate to consult the in-depth analysis I wrote specifically for you.
How to use Google Alert
Before explaining to you how Google Alert works, I want to tell you right away that the service can be used both from computers and from smartphones and tablets. For mobile devices, however, an ad hoc app has not yet been developed: you can still use the mobile version of the Alert site for this purpose, as specified in the next lines.
computer
To use Google Alert da computer, connected to the home page of the service from your favorite browser and, in the text field Create an alert button ... at the top of the page, type the keyword you want to track (e.g. the name of your Heart team, your name and surname, name of a famous person or any other search term of your interest).
At this point, expand the field Show options ▾ and, from the drop-down menus you see on the screen, select the settings you prefer most regarding the alerts you want to receive: select, therefore, the frequency with which to receive alerts (eg. As soon as possible, At most once a day o At most once a week), indicates the sources you want to monitor (eg. Automatica, News, Web, etc.), specifies the regione (Eg. All geographic areas, city, etc.) and the amount of alerts you want to receive (eg. All the results o Only the best results).
After setting all these parameters, type the e-mail address to which you want to receive the alerts, indicating it in the text field Enter email, and then presses the blue button Create alert placed next to it (you need to enter your Google account email). On the page that opens, then presses the button NEXTI inserted the Password of your Google account in the appropriate text field, presses the button once again NEXT and confirm the operation by pressing the blue button Create alert.
Of course, if you have already logged into your Google account, you will not need to enter your account email and password: when you click the button Create alert, the alert will be created immediately and, based on the parameters you have chosen, you will receive an email notification as soon as Google intercepts a content containing the keyword you are interested in. Convenient, right?
If you want to stop following the updates concerning a keyword for which you had activated the alerts, know that you can remove it from your alerts by pressing the icon of the dustbin mail at the keyword in question from the section My alerts, present on the main page of Google Alert (to do this, of course, you must be logged in with your Google account).
In case you are short of ideas on which keywords to monitor with Google Alert, know that you can select one of those that are suggested by the service. In the section Me on the Web, for example, you can press the button capacitor positive (+) lead placed next to yours name or yours email address to monitor any web content that talks about you or you can follow one of the topics listed in the section Google Alert Tips, where various keywords organized by category are listed (eg. Companies, Finanza, Music, Videos, Policy, Technology, Health, Etc.).
Smartphones and tablets
To use Google Alert da smartphones and tablets, you have to follow practically the same instructions that I gave you in the previous lines. Then connect to the main page of the service and indicate the keyword you want to monitor by writing it in the text field Create an alert button ... located at the top.
Then open the menu Show options ▾ and choose the settings you prefer for receiving alerts. Among other things, you can select the frequency with which to receive notifications (eg. As soon as possible, At most once a day o At most once a week), the sources you want to monitor (eg. Automatica, News, Web, etc.), the regione of origin (eg. All geographic areas, city, etc.) and the amount of notifications (eg. All the results o Only the best results).
Once you've selected your preferred reception settings, type in the text field Enter email the address to which you want to receive the alerts (you have to write the email of your Google account) and tap the button Create alert. On the page that opens, press the button NEXT, provide the Password of your Google account in the appropriate text field, tap the button again NEXT and, on the page that opens, presses the button again Create alert.
If you have already logged into your Google account, obviously you will not need to log into your account again following the instructions I gave you a moment ago. In case you want to stop receiving alerts regarding a previously set keyword, remove it from your alerts by tapping on the dustbin which is found in its correspondence, in the section My alerts.
